Thanks for bringing that to our attention, Chris. That date slipped under the radar. We can do better.
Maybe you guys can help? I need to get the dates for these conventions that TLG is attending as well as event sumbission and registration dates:
Gamehole (?)
GaryCon (event reg. ends soon)
Origins (Chris said event reg. just ended. When is event registration?)
NTRPG (?)
Those are the cons that TLG will definitely be at. Each year the dates will change and we'll need to update them.
Promoting events at these conventions requires several steps. One of them is announcing when a convention event submission period is. The second part is telling the community that the event registration is up.
If any of you can help by notifying us of these dates that would really help out. I know some of you already plan to attend these conventions and others. A lot of work goes into promoting these on the Trollnet (Facebook, G+, here, Twitter, the TLG forum.) We need more knights involved in the process.
Eventually we'll be able to list our games here on the site wherever they will be. That includes cons and FLGS's. But, we still need to organize the community and get people going to these events. Hopefully people have already set up games at Origins. We'll know by the time event registration begins.
Hey,
Origins posted their master matrix in Excel on their page.
My two events are listed! Whoot!
later,
Chris L. Taylor
How do we sign up? I'm totally new to this. Will be first Con, bringing several players and we want in, but are willing to help too!
You have to go in a buy a badge first. Then find an event and add it. Both cost a fee. Everything sells out fast. If enough people come we can set up some games on our own. Sometimes you can snag a table in the miniatures or tabletop area or the "open game" area. Last time you could buy beer there too. It is pretty crowded and (at least last time I was there) near the "Origins at night" room.
